Essential oils have been used for many many years, in fact they have been known to have been used as far back as 4500BC by Ancient Egyptians for cosmetics and ointments.

 

Essential Oils are extracted from certain types of leaves, roots, grasses, fruits and flowers. There are a multitude of different types of essential oils of which many are used in modern medicine.

What is a Carrier Oils?

A carrier Oil is used to dilute Essential Oils before they are applied to the skin.

Diluting Essential oils is a very important safety step when using essential oils.

There are a range of different carrier oils of which the natural ones are the best.

All carrier oils should be stored in a cool dark environment.

Some common carrier oils are: Jojoba Oil, Coconut Oil, Sweet Almond oil, Olive oil & Argan Oil.

 

Each are used differently with certain essential oils.

Ylang Ylang Essential Oil:

Useful with stress and anxiety.

It has a wonderful uplifting scent which is useful for depression or when trying to cope with anger.

It’s great in blends intended to focus upon happiness & gratitude.
