How To Let Go In Order To Move On

Updated: May 9, 2020

"They say it's normal to go through all the emotions after being diagnosed with an autoimmune condition."

To say it was hard was an understatement, it took me a long time to come to terms with things.

It was a process that had many highs and lows. I struggled internally and was angry at the world.

I had never felt anger like it before and knew I couldn't continue living that way.

So I made a decision, I had to learn to let go in order to live my life not just survive day by day.

The day I got my tattoo was the day I excepted the new me!

I was taking back control of MY life, I had the power within me to rise up from the darkness that had hold of me.

Over several months I learnt how to work through my emotions and let go of the negative thoughts and lots more in order for me to be where I am now.

If like me, you struggle to let go of negative emotions try writing them down on paper and flip the negative - by writing the positive next to it!

This helps to process your thoughts, by writing down the positive next to it, you can choose to override the negative.

It's Good To Work On Accepting Yourself For Who You Are Now.

Speak kindly to yourself, try using these affirmations

and repeating them out loud.

"I accept myself for who I am"

"I am worthy'

"I adapt to change easily"

"I love myself for who I am"

"I am deserving of everything i want in life"

Did you know that talking to yourself positively helps to relieve stress, increases confidence and helps to build a positive mindset!

Try this five minute exercise, grab some paper and a pen and start by finishing these sentences.

  1. Today I am grateful for...

  2. I am awesome because...

  3. Five things I love about myself are...

  4. The best thing I have done today is...

  5. My favourite memory growing up was...

These can help to create a positive mindset if used regularly.

Just remember you are loved, You are awesome and You've got this!

Much love
